The incidence of hypospadias is increasing. Decreased androgen sensitivity, 5alpha-reductase deficiency and chromosomal abnormalities are causes of the disease. Nonirritant suture material, coverage of the urethral reconstruction by additional tissue and perioperative care positively influence the outcome.
