The phylogenesis of hypotaxis in Vedic
Diachronica, 2008Hypotaxis has been found since the earliest records of Vedic, especially for relative and adverbial functions. However, some adverbial relations more often resort to alternative structures such as clause juxtaposition, nominalization, or particles. The principles underlying the inconsistent representation of hypotaxis remain unclear.

Hypotaxy of wafer-scale single-crystal transition metal dichalcogenides
NatureTwo-dimensional (2D) semiconductors, particularly transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), are promising for advanced electronics beyond silicon1-3. Traditionally, TMDs are epitaxially grown on crystalline substrates by chemical vapour deposition.

Concept Hypotaxis Semantic Network: A Knowledge Representation Model for Multimedia Data Mining
2006 12th International Multi-Media Modelling Conference, 2006Multimedia data mining (MDM) is one of the focused problems in current multimedia research domain. During MDM, based on user's annotations of corresponding media, it is crucial to represent those annotations correctly and completely to discover expected latent information.

The distribution of discoursal salience in research papers: relational hypotaxis and parataxis
Discourse Studies, 2006In this article I challenge the claim that nuclearity is a central principle in the organization of texts. I propose the Framework for the Relational Analysis of Texts (FARS) which accounts for the paratactic and hypotactic realization of coherence relations. Within this framework, the taxis of coherence relations is co-textually dictated.

Parataxis and hypotaxis in the history of English
Abstract The claim that parataxis precedes hypotaxis in the history of English is an idea with a long pedigree; however, the empirical evidence for it is limited. In this chapter, I revisit the question of parataxis and hypotaxis diachronically, focusing on two different claims.openaire +1 more source
The Logical Structures of Comics: Hypotaxis, Parataxis and Text Worlds
2019This chapter explores the logical function of graphic narrative, a second component of ideation alongside the experiential component. It stresses the hypotactic nature of comics, particularly its ability to project nested ‘text-worlds’, over against the paratactic sequentiality of the medium.

Hypotaxis and parataxis in the two- and fouryear-old children in Igbo
Hypotaxis is the grammatical arrangement of functionally similar but unequal constructs, while parataxis is the syntactic placement of sentences, clauses and phrases in adjacent positions without any coordinate or subordinate marker. Some of the objectives of this paper are: to show that language acquisition is a gradual process, and that the use of ...Nneoma, Fyne Ugorji, Utah Nduka, David
