Advanced Hemodynamic Monitoring During Postresuscitation Care After Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest: Protocol for a Scoping Review

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is associated with high mortality and substantial long‐term neurological sequelae among survivors. During postresuscitation intensive care after return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), myocardial dysfunction, vasoplegia, and mixed shock states are often observed.

Post‐Banding Ulcer Bleeding After Endoscopic Ligation: Incidence, Risk Factors and Outcomes in Patients With Cirrhosis

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 63, Issue 8, Page 1099-1108, April 2026.
A PBUB is a rare but often fatal complication of endoscopic variceal band ligation. The relevant risk factors contributing to PBUB are unknown and consequently there are no effective preemptive strategies. This study highlights kidney disease as a predictor of PBUB together with the well‐established higher risk for urgent band ligation.

Prevalence and outcomes of DKA in type 1 and type 2 DM patients treated and not treated with SGLT‐2 inhibitors

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, Volume 43, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Aim To compare the clinical characteristics, biochemical presentation, and short‐ and long‐term outcomes of DKA in hospitalized adults with T1DM and T2DM, including the impact of SGLT2 inhibitor therapy. Methods A retrospective cohort of 2283 adults (838 with T1DM; 1445 with T2DM) hospitalized with DKA between 2013 and 2023 across Clalit ...

Comparison of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of ultra‐rapid‐acting insulin aspart and rapid‐acting insulin aspart around continuous moderate intensity exercise in adults with type 1 diabetes: A randomised controlled trial

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 4, Page 3002-3010, April 2026.
Abstract Aims To compare the effects of dose reductions of ultra‐rapid‐acting insulin aspart (URA‐IAsp) and rapid‐acting insulin aspart (IAsp) on blood glucose concentrations during continuous moderate‐intensity exercise in people with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Bridging Critically Ill Patients With Cirrhosis to Transplant With Renal Replacement Therapy: A Multicenter Cohort Study

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims The efficacy of renal replacement therapy (RRT) in critically ill patients with cirrhosis remains dubious. We aimed to assess the impact of RRT on these patients' outcomes. Methods Multicenter retrospective cohort study including adult patients with cirrhosis admitted to intensive care units at University of Alberta Hospital (

On‐feet isometric bracing maintains cerebral arterial blood velocity during lower body negative pressure via preload augmentation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 4, Page 1756-1765, 1 April 2026.
Abstract Orthostatic stress reduces venous return and stroke volume (SV), risking cerebral hypoperfusion despite autonomic compensation. Although lower‐limb counterpressure manoeuvres improve cerebral perfusion in upright posture, their effects on cerebral blood velocity (CBV) during lower‐body negative pressure (LBNP) and the associated mechanisms are
