Relationships of the New World cichlid genus Hypsophrys Agassiz 1859 (Teleostei: Cichlidae), with diagnoses for the genus and its species [PDF]

open access: closedZootaxa, 2007
Two monotypic Neotropical cichlid genera, Hypsophrys Agassiz 1859 and Neetroplus Günther 1867, are well known but poorly diagnosed. The possession of a single supraneural (versus two for most Middle American species), a strongly rounded snout with a small and slightly subterminal mouth (versus straight snout profiles with terminal mouth) provide ...

Integumental organs of unknown function on chelipeds of deep‐sea crabs, genus Hypsophrys

open access: closedJournal of Morphology, 1976
AbstractHomolid crabs (Hypsophrys) from water deeper than 700 m in the Straits of Florida and Arabian Sea have smooth darkened oval spots contrasting with the surrounding roughened integument on inner and outer surfaces of each pincer at the base of the fixed finger. Cuticle is thinner over these spots than over surrounaing tissues.

The role of kisspeptin in the regulation of emotional states in modeling acute stress disorder in a vertebrate species

Журнал эволюционной биохимии и физиологии / Journal of Evolutionary Biochemistry and Physiology
In acute stress disorders, depressive, anxiety-phobic states and sexual dysfunctions are observed, which are poorly amenable to treatment. Neuropeptides of the kisspeptin group have been proposed for the correction of these disorders.
