Ferroelectric Catalysts in the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction: A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This perspective summarizes recent advances in ferroelectric (FE) catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). It first introduces HER fundamentals and FE mechanisms, then classifies FE catalysts into single‐phase, single‐atom‐modified, heterostructured, and other engineered types, with representative examples.

Phase‐Dependent Oxygen Defect Energetics in Epitaxial NbN/AlN/NbN Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase dependent oxygen defect energetics in epitaxial δ‐NbN/AlN/δ‐NbN and β‐Nb2N/AlN/β‐Nb2N trilayers. Atomic‐scale analysis and first‐principles calculations reveal distinct oxygen incorporation pathways across NbN polymorphs. Layer resolved defect formation energies show that O is energetically more favorable within δ‐NbN electrodes, whereas in β ...

Composed Mathematical-Informational modeling of column-base connections

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
Depending on the type of structural analysis required, any moment-rotation curve representation can be used; these include linear, bilinear, multi-linear and nonlinear representations. The most accurate representation uses continuous nonlinear functions.

Sustained Self‐Powered Real‐Time Vibration Monitoring Through Integrated Nonlinear Harvesting and Energy‐Aware Wireless Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐powered vibration sensing platform integrates a quasi‐zero‐stiffness piezoelectric harvester, synchronized electric charge extraction, energy management, and wireless ADC acquisition. Ambient vibration is simultaneously harvested as energy and digitized as information, enabling sustained real‐time waveform monitoring without external power.

Numerical Evaluation of the Equivalent Damping Ratio Due to Dissipative Roof Structure in the Retrofit of Historical Churches

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper is focused on the numerical evaluation of the equivalent damping ratio (EDR) given by a dissipative wood-based roof diaphragm in the seismic retrofitting of single-nave historical churches. In the design phase, the EDR could be a key parameter

Hysteretic behavior of the segmented buckling‐resistant braces with LYP160

open access: yesEngineering Reports
AbstractThe goal was to evaluate the hysteretic performance of buckling‐resistant braces with low yield point steel LYP160, the monotonic tensile and cyclic loading tests of LYP160 test specimens were conducted and the cyclic constitutive relationship was obtained.

Suppressing Morphological and Energetic Disorder in Copper Antimony Sulfide‐based Hole‐Transporting Materials via Ligand–Precursor Engineering for Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐precursor and ligand engineering regulate the nucleation, morphology, and energetic disorder of CuSbS2 nanocrystals for dopant‐free inorganic hole‐transport layers in perovskite solar cells. Thiourea‐assisted synthesis combined with optimized OAm/OAc coordination suppresses excessive anisotropic growth, enabling mixed plate‐like/quasi‐spherical ...

Optically Tunable Threshold Switching and Thermally Activated Transport in Planar Ag/MAPbI3 Thin Single‐Crystal Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Planar Ag/MAPbI3 thin single‐crystal halide perovskite devices show ultralow dark current and optically tunable threshold switching. Illumination enhances the polarity‐dependent hysteresis and shifts the switching voltage, whereas temperature‐dependent measurements reveal thermally activated, contact‐limited transport, underscoring the central role of ...

Battery‐Inspired Electrochemical Synapses for Neuromorphic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Battery‐ion‐inspired synaptic devices integrate diverse electrolyte systems (solid, ion‐gel, liquid) with transition metal oxides, two‐dimensional materials, and organic channels to regulate ion‐electron coupling. By tailoring ion transport and host interactions, these platforms enable controllable plasticity and energy‐efficient implementations for ...
