Optimum strength ratio of hysteretic damper

Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, 1998
An accurate and practical testing technique to study seismic performance of multi-storey infilled frames is formulated. This technique is based on the pseudo-dynamic method which can provide an acceptable approximation of the dynamic performance of structures under the influence of earthquake excitation.

Optimal Bounded Semi-Active Control of Hysteretic Systems with MR Damper

open access: yesAdvances in Structural Engineering, 2010
A bounded stochastic optimal semi-active control strategy for random excited hysteretic systems by using MR damper is proposed and illustrated by an example of a single degree-of-freedom hysteretic system.

A reduced hysteretic model of stockbridge dampers

Materials Research Proceedings, 2023
Abstract. This paper presents a reduced model to describe the nonlinear dynamic behavior of Stockbridge dampers. The proposed model is based on the classic Bouc-Wen hysteretic law and requires the identification of a small number of model parameters.

Assessment of a novel hysteretic friction damper for the seismic retrofit of reinforced concrete frame structures

open access: yesStructures, 2022
In this paper, a novel hysteretic friction damper, called Prestressed LEad Damper with Straight Shaft (or PS-LED), is presented as a viable solution for the seismic rehabilitation of existing RC framed buildings.

Systematic development of a new hysteretic damper based on torsional yielding: part II—experimental phase

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, 2016
This paper reports on experimental studies carried out on a 200kN, 120mm-capacity prototype of the newly developed multidirectional torsional hysteretic damper for seismic protection of structures. The main goal of the experiments is to test the validity

Hysteretic Properties of Shell Dampers

2018
The achievements of the authors in the analytical modeling of hysteretic energy dissipation in the systems of shells with deformable filler at the expense of dry friction are presented. Four design variants are considered: solid shell with filler, cut shell with filler and the same systems with internal coaxial shell.
