Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Incorporating Nonlinear Optics, 1990Abstract The synthesis, electrocrystallization, and crystal structure of the organic conductor (BEDT-TTF)Ag x Br3 (x ≈ 2.4; BEDT-TTF = bis(ethylene- dithio)tetrathiafulvalene) are reported. The crystal structure contains layers of donor cations (charge per molecule: +0.6) interspersed with layers of silver bromide complex anions.

Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Properties of MgxB50C8 or Mgx(B12)4(CBC)2(C2)2 (x = 2.4−4)
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010Single crystals of a new magnesium boride carbide Mg(x)B(50)C(8) (x = 2.4-4) were synthesized from the elements in a metallic melt using tantalum ampules. Crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction and electron microprobe analysis. The variation of the Mg content results from different reaction conditions.

Crystals of the new ternary bismuthides AE5Ti12Bi19+x (AE = Sr, Ba) and Sr5–δEuδTi12Bi19+x (δ ≈ 2.4, 4.0; x ≤ 1.0) were grown using an excess of molten Bi as a flux. The title compounds crystallize in the cubic non‐centrosymmetric space group P43m and are structurally related to the antimonides Ba5M12Sb19+x (M = Ti, V, Nb).
