Islet Autoantibody Measurements from Dried Blood Spots on Filter Paper Strongly Correlate to Serum Levels. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is increasing in incidence and predictable with measurement of serum islet autoantibodies (iAb) years prior to clinical disease onset. Identifying iAb positive individuals reduces diabetic ketoacidosis and identifies individuals for

Impact of screening programmes for type 1 diabetes in youth: A systematic review and meta-analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesDiabet Med
Abstract Aim To evaluate the impact of anti‐islet antibody (IAb) screening on the general population and first‐degree relatives (FDRs)/high‐risk individuals and evidence‐based follow‐up modalities. Methods We performed this review through systematic searches of PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, ClinicalTrials.gov and International ...

Optimized Integer Aperture Bootstrapping for High-Integrity CDGNSS Applications

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Integer Aperture Bootstrapping (IAB) is a crucial method for testing ambiguity acceptance in carrier-phase differential global navigation satellite system (CDGNSS) positioning. It has the advantage that integrity parameters, such as the failure rate, can

A Survey on Integrated Access and Backhaul Networks

open access: yesFrontiers in Communications and Networks, 2021
Benefiting from the usage of the high-frequency band, utilizing part of the large available bandwidth for wireless backhauling is feasible without considerable performance sacrifice. In this context, integrated access and backhaul (IAB) has been proposed

Treatment with Bacterial Biologics Promotes Healthy Aging and Traumatic Brain Injury Responses in Adult Drosophila, Modeling the Gut–Brain Axis and Inflammation Responses

open access: yesCells, 2021
Drosophila are widely used to study neural development, immunity, and inflammatory pathways and processes associated with the gut–brain axis. Here, we examine the response of adult Drosophila given an inactive bacteriologic (IAB; proprietary lysate ...

Intensive care unit-acquired bacteremia in mechanically ventilated patients: clinical features and outcomes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Intensive care unit (ICU)-acquired bacteremia (IAB) is associated with high medical expenditure and mortality. Mechanically ventilated patients represent one third of all patients admitted to ICU, but the clinical features and outcomes in mechanically ...

Epicardial high-resolution mapping of advanced interatrial block: Relating ECG, conduction abnormalities and excitation patterns

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2023
BackgroundImpairment of conduction across Bachmann’s Bundle (BB) may cause advanced interatrial block (a-IAB), which in turn is associated with development of atrial fibrillation.

The Canada-France deep fields survey-I: 100,000 galaxies, 1 deg^2: a precise measurement of \omega(\theta) to IAB~25 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
(abridged) Using the UH8K mosaic camera, we have measured the angular correlation function \omega(\theta) for 100,000 galaxies over four widely separated fields totalling ~1\deg^2 and reaching IAB~25.5.

Wage reactions to regional and national unemployment

open access: yesRegional Science Policy &Practice, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract This paper analyses the entire wage effects of unemployment for an especially long observation period. In a three‐step approach, the wage reaction at the national level (wage‐setting curve or aggregate wage equation) is added to the reaction at the regional level (wage curve). Spatial models with instrumental variables are used.

Pilot Study of Intra-Aortic Balloon Occlusion to Limit Morbidity in Patients with Adherent Placentation Undergoing Cesarean Hysterectomy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Perinatology Reports, 2018
Objective We study whether using an intra-aortic balloon (IAB) during cesarean hysterectomy decreases delivery morbidity in patients with suspected morbidly adherent placentation.
