Association between blood pressure levels and mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes: A retrospective cohort analysis

In this retrospective cohort analysis, systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg (vs <130) significantly increased all‐cause, cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and diabetes mortality, whereas diastolic pressure 80–90 mmHg (vs <80) was associated with lower all‐cause and cardiovascular mortality.

Two Brief Steps, Better Foresight: Cognitive Screening and Adverse Outcomes in Older Adults Admitted From the Emergency Department

Nearly half of older adults admitted from the emergency department have cognitive problems that often go unnoticed. A simple step‐by‐step approach—first checking delirium, then testing cognition when delirium is absent—identified patients at higher risk of functional decline and death. This strategy supports targeted care for hospitalized older adults.
