Ibn Hazm of Cordoba and the Value of Science
Revista Española de Filosofía Medieval, 2018 The concept of science moulded by the Islamic world was shaped by the Koran and the Greek notion of science, transmitted through translations of Greek texts into Arabic. Ibn Hazm’s repre-sentation of science and philosophy is based on that very concept. He is the first Andalucian we find whose extant texts recognise the value of the sciences.
