Fluoride Concentration and pH of Iced Tea Products

Caries Research, 2002
The objective of this study was to determine the fluoride concentration and pH of 44 iced tea samples and hence to assess the possible role of these beverages as systemic fluoride source as well as their potential cariogenic and erosive character. Ten tea samples were available as a granular instant powder, and 34 as ready-to-drink liquid products. The

Influence of the Ice Concentration on the Ice Loads on the Hull of a Ship in a Managed Ice Field

Volume 6: Materials Technology; Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology; Petroleum Technology Symposium, 2012
The research and development project DYPIC (Dynamic Positioning in Ice) focuses on the challenges related to DP operations in Arctic environment. At the HSVA (Hamburg Ship Model Basin, Germany), model tests in ice were carried out using two configurations; one where the model was fixed to the towing carriage, and a free floating configuration, where ...

Multisensor comparison of ice concentration estimates in the marginal ice zone

Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1987
Aircraft remote sensing data collected during the 1984 summer Marginal Ice Zone Experiment in the Fram Strait are used to compare ice concentration estimates derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery, passive microwave imagery at several frequencies, aerial photography, and spectral photometer data.

Ice Nucleus Concentrations at the Ground

Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 1963
Abstract Daily observations of the surface concentration of ice nuclei have been made for three summers in Missouri as a part of Project Whitetop. The observations were taken with a nucleus counter of the expansion type. Ice nucleus counts varied considerably from day to day and from hour to hour; they were greater, on the average, during periods with ...

Concentrations of Ice Crystals in Clouds

Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, 1970
Abstract Some cumulus clouds appear to be capable of producing ice crystals in concentrations of 10–100l−1 at temperatures approaching −5C. This has serious implications for cloud seeding with ice nuclei. We discuss various possible mechanisms by which these unexpectedly high concentrations may originate.

Ice nuclei concentrations in an urban atmosphere

Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1985
Abstract A multivariate statistical analysis of the ice nuclei concentrations and meteorological data collected in Valladolid, Spain, during the period January–October 1982 is presented. In order to obtain a major knowledge of the microphysics of the region, a basic description of ice nuclei concentration data is made.

The deuterium concentration in Arctic sea ice

Journal of Geophysical Research, 1961
Samples taken from cores of sea ice collected near Ice Island T-3 at 80°18′N, 113°W, and on US-IGY Drifting Station Alpha at approximate locations of 85°40′N, 127°W, and 83°N, 165°W, were analyzed for their relatives deuterium content. A plot of deuterium concentration vs.

Measurement of concentrations of natural ice nuclei

Atmospheric Research, 1990
Abstract If the currently forecast global warming occurs, the distribution of clouds and their properties are likely to change also and interact with the warming. The distribution of precipitation will also be affected. One known influence on cloud properties and the formation of precipitation is the concentration of airborne particles on which ice ...

Measurements of Ice Crystal Concentration in Clouds

Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 1969
Abstract Measurements of ice crystal concentration in five clouds in northern New South Wales are reported. These confirm earlier studies in which it was found that glaciated altostratus clouds contain approximately the same concentration of ice crystals and ice nuclei.

Comparison of digitized Canadian ice charts and passive microwave sea-ice concentrations

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003
This paper presents results comparing digitized sea-ice charts with passive microwave estimates of sea-ice concentration using the NASA Team algorithm. The Canadian ice chart series contains detailed information on sea-ice type during the sea ice growth, consolidation and melt stages for four main ice-covered regions of Canada: the Canadian East Coast,
