Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Formation and movement of ice accumulation waves under ice cover –an experimental study
Ice jams in rivers often arise from the movement of frazil ice as cover-load under ice cover, a process which is conceptually similar to the movement of sediment as bed-load along a river bed. The formation and movement of an ice-accumulation wave is one

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Analysis for Coupling Characteristic and Weakness of “Source-Network-Load” Under Ice Storms [PDF]
[Objective] Under extreme ice-disaster conditions, the power-generation capacity of wind and solar energy declines significant while the probability of power-equipment failure increases significantly, thus resulting in severe supply-demand imbalances ...

A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Statistical Analysis of Ice Load on Icebreaker Ship Based on Stochastic Ice Fields
Accurately assessing ice loads is a fundamental issue in the field of structural design for ships in ice-covered regions. In this paper, we conducted research on extreme ice load estimation for icebreaking ships, combining stochastic theory with ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Design consideration of two candidate propellers for ice breaking vessel
The propellers for ships operating in the Antarctic and Arctic regions encounter fragments of ice and sometimes are damaged according to the severity of ice load. The design of propellers for such ships is quite different from that of conventional ships,
