Inertial motion of a circular cylinder approaching obliquely an ice cover
Two-dimensional unsteady problem of an inertial motion of a circular cylinder approaching obliquely an ice cover and the response of ice to this motion are investigated. The liquid under the ice is inviscid, incompressible and of infinite depth.

Influence of Lamb Wave Anisotropy on Detection of Water-to-Ice Phase Transition
An important technical task is to develop methods for recording the phase transitions of water to ice. At present, many sensors based on various types of acoustic waves are suggested for solving this challenge.

Experimental Study on Freezing Behavior in Flat-plate Supercooler
In this study, a dynamic ice-making system with supercooling water was designed and built, and a visual flat-plate supercooler was developed. The influence of flow and heat transfer on the freezing behavior in the flat-plate supercooler was studied by a ...

The Growth of the Natural Ice-Plate
Growth of the natural ice-plate, including the ice-rampart, one of the particular phenomena on the freezing process, has been observed on the rivers in North Manchuria. Experimental equation of ice-thickness has been derived as H=2.32√u√T; H means ice-thickness, U means the mean values of air-temperature and T means the number of days.

Estimation of local ice load by analyzing shear strain data from the IBRV ARAON's 2016 Arctic voyage
The icebreaking research vessel ARAON performed ice field tests during her 2016 Arctic voyage. The ship is subjected to ice loads through ice–ship interaction processes.

Formation of Cracks in Ice Plates by Thermal Shock
Thermal shock crack patterns were found to be almost entirely dependent on crystalllographic orientation. One crack pattern studied consisted of a system of equilateral triangles parallel to the crystalllographic "a" directions. This occurred in the case where the axis of hexagonal symmetry is perpendicular to the plate surface.
