Giant Intrinsic Chirality Amplification of Aqueous Lead Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals via H‐Bond Driven Self‐Assembly Superstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water‐assisted monoclinic CsPbBr3 transformation strategy is applied for synthesizing aqueous CsPbBr3/CsPb2Br5 nanocrystals with superior water‐repellent and excellent optical property. Low temperature enhanced hydrogen bonding network self‐assembled CsPbBr3/CsPb2Br5 nanocrystals into asymmetric superstructures, which exhibit notable circularly ...

Surge motion of an ice floe in waves: comparison of theoretical and experimental models

open access: yes, 2014
A theoretical model and an experimental model of surge motions of an ice floe due to regular waves are presented. The theoretical model is a modified version of Morrison's equation, valid for small floating bodies.

Residual‐Lithium‐to‐LiF Conversion Enables a LiF–Fluorinated Carbon Interphase for Reconstruction‐Resistant Ni‐Rich Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fluorine‐rich acrylate monomer (PFHEA) was solvent‐free applied to NCM90 and thermally decomposed under Ar to convert residual lithium into LiF and form a pre‐built LiF/fluorinated amorphous carbon (LiF/FC) interphase. The LiF/FC layer suppresses NiO rock‐salt reconstruction and microcrack propagation, lowers interfacial resistance, and improves Li ...

Machine Learning‐Assisted Inverse Design of Soft and Multifunctional Hybrid Liquid Metal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A machine learning framework is presented for inverse design of synthesizable multifunctional composites containing both liquid metal and solid inclusions. By integrating physics‐based modeling, data‐driven prediction, and Bayesian optimization, the approach enables intelligent design of experiments to identify optimal compositions and realize these ...

Ice regime of the rivers of the Debed basin, Armenia

open access: yesЛëд и снег, 2021
For the first time, the ice regime and its changes in 1939–2018 was analyzed for one of the largest river basins in Armenia – the Debed River. The main material for the analysis was data from observations at six weather stations and 15 river posts of the Hydrometeorological Service of Armenia, which are located at different altitude levels – from the ...

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Lysosome‐Acidifying Nanoparticles Rescue A30P α‐Synuclein Induced Neuronal Death in Cellular and Drosophila Models of Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Lysosome‐targeted acidic nanoparticles based on a biodegradable poly(ethylene tetrafluorosuccinate‐co‐succinate) copolymer are engineered to restore impaired lysosomal acidification through pH‐responsive intracellular degradation. Localized acid release enhances autophagic proteolysis, reduces α‐synuclein accumulation, and preserves dopaminergic neuron

Adapting the Canadian Ice Regime System to operational ice navigation

open access: yes, 1999
The Canadian Arctic Ice Regime Shipping System (AIRSS) uses ice conditions and vessel class to provide guidance on safe navigation in ice. In this paper the AIRSS has been modified to take into account ice decay, ridging, floe size and icebreaker escort to calculate a Transit Numeral, an indicator of ice severity.
