Oceanographic Condition of the Habitat and Distribution of Atlantic Chub Mackerel Scomber colias (Actinopteri: Scombridae) in Southwestern Atlantic

open access: yesFisheries Oceanography, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Atlantic chub mackerel, Scomber colias Gmelin, 1789, is a pelagic species, found in schools throughout the Atlantic Ocean. The objective of the present study is to identify the relationship between oceanographic conditions and catches of the Atlantic chub mackerel fishing resource in the Southwest Atlantic Ocean (21°S–29°S).

SYNCAS‐mediated CRISPR‐Cas9 genome editing in the Jewel wasp, Nasonia vitripennis

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, EarlyView.
Maternal injection of Cas9 RNP together with BAPC and saponins (SYNCAS) results in efficient gene editing of Nasonia vitripennis offspring. The timing of injection and egg collection is important for maximising efficiency and reducing screening effort.

Comparative study on the sintered porous A‐type carbonate apatite, B‐type carbonate apatite, and hydroxyapatite

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, EarlyView.
Abstract There are two types of carbonated apatite (cap): A‐type and B‐type, where carbonate ions substitute for hydroxyl sites in A‐CAp and phosphate sites in B‐CAp. Despite the known capacity of CAp in supporting the activities of bone cells, the distinct potential of A‐CAp and B‐CAp as porous bone grafts is unclear.
