Arctic teleconnection on climate and ozone pollution in the polar jet stream path of eastern US [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Arctic sea ice is in reduction and has been a key significant indicator of climate change. In this paper, we explore Arctic Sea ice extent data to identify teleconnection with weather change in the polar and sub-tropical jet stream intersection in eastern United States (US) and hence the potential influence in ground level ozone pollution.

Temperature Tunable Optical Properties of Tetraheptylaluminum(III) Porphyrin Toward Molecular Thermometer

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
An amphiphilic aluminum(III) porphyrin (AlC7P) has been developed, and its temperature‐dependant aggregation‐induced photophysical properties have been investigated. The observed photophysical changes due to the aggregation in haxanes make AlC7P a suitable candidate for a luminescent molecular thermometer.

Genese des Nordseeraumes im Quartär

open access: yesFennia: International Journal of Geography, 1974
In spite of alterations due to transgressions, Pleistocene forms are still discernible in the North Sea area. In this study, explanation of their genesis is based on a reconstruction of the ice‑sheds of different dimensions and the dynamic elements of ...

Exploring the Influence of Carbonaceous Material on the Photocatalytic Performance of Composites Containing Bi‐BiOBr and P25 TiO2 for NOx Remediation

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Accepted Article.
Bi‐BiOBr‐P25 TiO2 composite exhibits high and synergistic improvements in the photocatalytic activity for nitrogen oxide (NOx) removal. Herein, we explored the influence of adding carbonaceous material to this composite, namely graphene (G), graphene oxide (GO), carbon nanotubes (CNT) and buckminsterfullerene (F); all at 1 wt.%.

Contributions of arid climate and hydrothermal fluid flow on sedimentation in saline‐alkaline lakes: Insight from the Ibar intramontane basin (Southern Serbia)

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
The article demonstrates that brine was central for the supply of Ca and B to the studied saline lake. The ion transport occurred probably by thermal springs, while contributions from surface waters cannot be excluded. However, the saturation and syndepositional precipitation of Ca borates were initiated by an arid climate through evaporation, while ...

Improving the Determination of Carbon Isotope Ratios of Endogenous Steroids Found in Human Serum

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
A method employing high‐performance liquid chromatographic sample cleanup to determine the carbon isotope ratios of steroids found in human serum was developed and fully validated. A reference population encompassing more than 120 male and female athlete samples was investigated in order to establish population‐based thresholds for Δ‐values.
