Hybrid Nanoparticles Separated by Buoyant Density in a Large‐Scale Centrifugal Process
Zonal rotors, shaped like hollow bowls, can sort mixtures of macromolecules and polymer nanoparticles based only on their densities, regardless of their actual sizes or shapes. Using these rotors can make a big difference because they do not need to use centrifuge tubes.

Forest management for wood products involves the conversion of primary forests to younger plantations. This has an immediate impact on biota such as ectomycorrhizal fungi, a diverse symbiotic fungal community. Alternatives to large clearcuts may be one way to mitigate harvesting effects.

Recent shifts in flowering times are an index of, and a response to, human driven climate change. However, most information on these flowering changes is heavily skewed to the northern hemisphere. This imbalance limits our understanding of how climate change is affecting ecosystems, including the mismatches of flowering times between species, increased

Variability in apple fruit quality across management systems and latitudinal climate gradients
As the world transitions to more sustainable agricultural practices to combat environmental damage, it is important to investigate how different management systems shape the quality and nutrition of our crops. We analyzed apples from paired organic and conventional sites across the western United States.

Crystal Structure and Functional Characterization of YjgK From Salmonella Typhimurium
ABSTRACT The YhcH/YjgK/YiaL (DUF386) family, widely conserved across bacterial species, is involved in essential cellular processes yet remains poorly characterized. YjgK from Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium has drawn attention because of its potential role in biofilm formation associated with metal homeostasis, which may be critical for ...

Modelling the influence of soil moisture on the Turkana jet
High‐resolution convection‐permitting experiments demonstrate that the Turkana jet is sensitive to soil moisture variations. When examining realistic dry and wet conditions, dry soils amplify a surface‐induced thermal low, which intensifies the along‐channel pressure gradient and strengthens the Turkana jet.
