Two-Dimensional Wave Interaction with a Rigid Body Floating near the Marginal Ice Zone

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The interaction problem of waves with a body floating near the marginal ice zone is studied, where the marginal ice zone is modeled as an array of multiple uniformly sized floating ice sheets.

Analysis of the Electrochemical Stability of Sulfide Solid Electrolyte Dry Films for Improved Dry‐Processed Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An adapted processing for solvent‐free argyrodite solid electrolyte films based on insights into degradation mechanisms of the widely used binder polytetrafluoroethylene is presented. By adapting the dry film processing, long‐term cycling in Si||NMC pouch cells is demonstrated over more than 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of more than 80%, and ...

Data report for the Siple Coast (Antarctica) project [PDF]

open access: yes
This report presents data collected during three field seasons of glaciological studies in the Antarctica and describes the methods employed. The region investigated covers the mouths of Ice Streams B and C (the Siple Coast) and Crary Ice Rise on the ...

3D Digital Light Processing of Redox‐Active Polymers for Electrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
3D printing of electrochemically switchable conducting polymers is achieved by Digital Light Processing of redox‐active carbazole‐based polymer materials. Complex 2D and 3D architectures including dot arrays and pyramids clearly show the potential for novel 3D switchable electrochemical devices for sensors, electrochromic displays as well as 3D printed

Solvent‐Free Bonding Mechanisms and Microstructure Engineering in Dry Electrode Technology for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dry electrode technology revolutionizes battery manufacturing by eliminating toxic solvents and energy‐intensive drying. This work details two promising techniques: dry spray deposition and polymer fibrillation. How their unique solvent‐free bonding mechanisms create uniform microstructures for thicker, denser electrodes, boosting energy density and ...

Changing contribution of peak velocity events to annual velocities following a multi-decadal slowdown at White Glacier

open access: yesAnnals of Glaciology, 2017
As the focus of intensive glaciological studies in the 1960–70s, White Glacier on Axel Heiberg Island, Canada, has played an important role in understanding the dynamics of mostly-cold polythermal glaciers in the high Arctic.

Effect of velocity in icing scaling tests [PDF]

open access: yes38th Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2000
This paper presents additional results of a study first published in 1999 to determine the effect of scale velocity on scaled icing test results. Reference tests were made with a 53.3-cm-chord NACA 0012 airfoil model in the NASA Glenn Icing Research Tunnel at an airspeed of 67 m/s, an MVD of 40 microns, and an LWC of 0.6 g/cu m.

Antarctic lakes (above and beneath the ice sheet): Analogues for Mars [PDF]

open access: yes
The perennial ice covered lakes of the Antarctic are considered to be excellent analogues to lakes that once existed on Mars. Field studies of ice covered lakes, paleolakes, and polar beaches were conducted in the Bunger Hills Oasis, Eastern Antarctica ...
