Geometric Objects: A Quality Index to Electromagnetic Energy Transfer Performance in Sustainable Smart Buildings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Sustainable smart buildings play an essential role in terms of more efficient energy. However, these buildings as electric loads are affected by an important distortion in the current and voltage waveforms caused by the increasing proliferation of ...

Galloping Stability and Wind Tunnel Test of Iced Quad Bundled Conductors considering Wake Effect

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2020
A new quad bundle conductor galloping model considering wake effect is proposed to solve the problem of different aerodynamic coefficients of each subconductor of iced quad bundle conductor.

Légköri jegesedésnek kitett villamos távvezetékek numerikus vizsgálata [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Azokban az országokban, ahol a légköri jegesedés gyakorta okoz komoly károkat a mérnöki építményekben, komoly hangsúlyt fektetnek e tudományterület alapos megismerésére és olyan technológiák, eljárások kifejlesztésére, amelyekkel a katasztrófák ...

Experimental study on dynamic response characteristics of isolated‐span transmission lines after ice‐shedding

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2023
The dynamic response characteristics, including maximum jump height and unbalanced tension, of isolated‐span transmission lines after ice‐shedding are investigated by means of experiments.

Investigation on Influences of  Two Discrete Methods on Galloping Characteristics of Iced Quad Bundle Conductors

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
The partial differential galloping equation of iced quad conductors can be transformed into an ordinary differential galloping equation by two discrete methods: one is a direct discrete method and the other is an indirect discrete method.

Galloping Control for Iced Conductors Using Tuned Mass Dampers with Fixed Time-Delayed Feedback

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2019
A tuned mass damper with fixed time-delay feedbacks (TTMD) is first applied to suppress galloping of iced conductors. It is different from general time-delay feedback control, which also connects an added mass to a galloping body and can absorb ...

Generalized Method Of Designing Unmanned Remotely Operated Complexes Based On The System Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Self-propelled underwater systems belong to the effective means of marine robotics. The advantages of their use include the ability to perform underwater work in real time with high quality and without risk to the life of a human operator.

Aerodynamic and Vibration Characteristics of Iced Power Transmission Conductors in a Nonuniform Wind Field Based on Unsteady Theory

open access: yesEnergies
To study the aerodynamic and vibration characteristics of iced conductors under the influence of wind fluctuations, a harmonic superposition method is used to simulate nonuniform wind speeds.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
