Rapid Access and Visualization of Spaceborne Altimetry Data from ICESat and ICESat-2

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
The goal of OpenAltimetry is to provide altimetry-specific data discovery and access with a focus on ease-of-use and quick response times. OpenAltimetry currently supports NASA's laser altimeter missions: ICESat (2003∼2009) and ICESat-2 (scheduled for launch in 2018) with a powerful, web-based interactive interface that provides data discovery ...

ICESat-2 laser Nd:YVO4 amplifier

Components and Packaging for Laser Systems IV, 2018
We report on the cause and corrective actions of three amplifier crystal fractures in the space-qualified laser systems used in NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s (GSFC) Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2). The ICESat-2 lasers each contain three end-pumped Nd:YVOO4 amplifier stages.

ICESat-2 ATLAS telescope testing

2015 IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2015
Many lessons were learned in the comprehensive testing of the one meter Beryllium flight telescope for the ICESat-2 mission. This paper will focus on testing areas of encircled energy analysis, plate scale measurements, and boresight alignment for alignment of fiber optic cables.

A New Web-Based Software Tool for ICESat and ICESat-2 Laser Altimetry Data Processing and Visualization

2021 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium IGARSS, 2021
The purpose of this paper is to present and briefly describe a web-based tool for processing and visualizing in a suitable way the available data from satellite laser altimetry missions, in particular data from ICESat and ICESat-2. This new tool, called ICEComb, allows to access all data contained within each data granule of the datasets of both ...
