Cellular Identity Crisis: RD3 Loss Fuels Plasticity and Immune Silence in Progressive Neuroblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers discovered that therapy‐induced loss of RD3 protein in neuroblastoma triggers a dangerous shift: cancer cells become more stem‐like, invasive, and resistant to treatment while evading immune detection. RD3 loss suppresses antigen presentation and boosts immune checkpoints, creating an immune‐silent environment.

Impact of heating temperatures on the properties of instant cassava flour

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2021
Native cassava flour can be modified to be instant flour by heating the cassava flour in ethanol solution. The impact of heating temperatures of 60, 80, and 100 °C (coded as ICF-60, ICF-80, and ICF-100) on the properties of instant cassava flour (ICF ...

The Primordial Helium Abundance: Towards Understanding and Removing the Cosmic Scatter in the dY/dZ Relation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We present results from photoionization models of low-metallicity HII regions. These nebulae form the basis for measuring the primordial helium abundance.

The 9th International RASopathies Symposium

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The RASopathies are a group of congenital disorders with overlapping clinical manifestations that are caused by pathogenic germline or early somatic variants that result in the hyperactivation of the RAS/mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway.

Ionization Corrections For Low-Metallicity H II Regions and the Primordial Helium Abundance

open access: yes, 1999
Helium and hydrogen recombination lines observed in low-metallicity, extragalactic H II regions provide the data used to infer the primordial helium mass fraction, Y_P.

What does the chronic pain grade questionnaire measure? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study explored the ability of the Chronic Pain Grade Questionnaire (CPG) to operationalise the WHO's model of health outcomes, namely the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).

Hierarchical Complementary Enhanced Autoencoder Integrating Spatio‐Temporal Interaction Feature for Soft Sensor

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To address the issues of neglecting the spatiotemporal correlations among process variables, low‐level features are vulnerable to noise interference, and the gradual loss of key information layer by layer during deep network training in traditional stacked autoencoder‐based soft‐sensor models, this paper proposes a hierarchical complementary ...

Acceptability of a smart lighter for tracking cigarette smoking: A focus group study

open access: yesDigital Health
Background Smart lighters track cigarette smoking episodes, which can help identify smoking patterns and intervention approaches to promote cessation. We gauged the acceptability of smart lighters among individuals with low socioeconomic status (SES), a ...
