A diverse trackway-dominated marine ichnoassemblage from the Lower Triassic in the northern Paleotethys: Ichnology and implications for biotic recovery [PDF]

open access: yesPalaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2019
Abstract We document a diverse ichnoassemblage from marine interbeds of the Lower Triassic terrestrial succession in the Houzhougongmiao (HZGM) section of Shaanxi Province, northwestern China. Integrated biostratigraphic data (bivalve, palynology and conchostracan) reveals that the ichnofossil-bearing marine beds are Griesbachian (Induan, Early ...

An endemic ichnoassemblage from a late Miocene paleolake in SE Iceland

open access: yesPalaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2017
Abstract In Þorisdalur valley, a small relict of a sedimentary body was identified in southeastern Iceland. It probably represents a remnant of the deep, tectonically arranged paleolake (Late Miocene, 8–9 Ma), and filled by volcaniclastic material from nearby, active volcanic centers. In the profile of tuffitic sandstone, siltstone and claystone, the

Late Triassic ichnoassemblage from a playa-lake system of the Coastal Meseta, Morocco: Palaeoenvironmental and palaeoecological implications

open access: yesJournal of African Earth Sciences, 2020
Abstract Here we present the first comprehensive ichnotaxonomic analysis of a Late Triassic playa system from the Sidi Said Maachou Basin, Coastal Meseta (Western Meseta, Morocco). The Late Triassic deposits consist of sediments deposited in various nonmarine environments dominated by dry red-bed facies.

An ornithischian-theropod ichnoassemblage from the Norian-Rhaetian transition of Poland

open access: yesPalaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology
In this paper, we describe a dinosaur track assemblage from an Upper Triassic fluvial succession at the Lisowice-Lipie Slaskie site in Silesia, southern Poland. The tetrapod tracks were identified in two studied intervals (A and C), each comprising several track-bearing beds, and representing the deposits of meandering fluvial systems.

A hypersaline ichnoassemblage from the Middle Triassic carbonate ramp of the Tatricum domain in the Tatra Mountains, Southern Poland

open access: yesPalaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2010
Abstract The Middle Triassic of the Tethyan domain contains heavily bioturbated carbonates known as vermicular limestones. In the Tatricum domain in the Tatra Mountains, Western Carpathians, these were deposited on a restricted carbonate ramp below the fair-weather wave base.

Ichnoassemblages from the Wilcox Formation in the Burgos Basin, northeastern Mexico

Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2022
Abstract An ichnological analysis of the Paleocene–Eocene Wilcox Formation at San José de la Laja and La Curva localities within the Burgos Basin in northeastern Mexico revealed seven ichnogenera: Chondrites , Diplocraterion , Ophiomorpha ...

PALEOENVIRONMENTS AND PALEOECOLOGY OF A LOWER TRIASSIC INVERTEBRATE AND VERTEBRATE ICHNOASSEMBLAGE FROM THE RED PEAK FORMATION (CHUGWATER GROUP), CENTRAL WYOMING

Palaios, 2012
The Lower Triassic Red Peak Formation of the Chugwater Group has long been considered to have an extremely poor paleontological record, although the cause for the apparent dearth of fossils has yet to be been determined. During the course of fieldwork in central Wyoming numerous vertebrate and invertebrate ichnogenera (n ≥ 11) were observed. Vertebrate
