Abstract This is a high-fidelity human patient simulation involving a severely hypothermic patient requiring invasive measures to rewarm the patient's core temperature. Altered physiology, along with medical and traumatic scenarios that put the patient at risk for severe hypothermia, is also addressed.

Wind turbines in icing conditions: performance and prediction [PDF]
Icing on structures is an important issue for wind energy developments in many regions of the world. Unfortunately, information about icing conditions is mostly rare due to a lack of measurements. Additionally, there is not much known about the operation

We report results from molecular dynamics simulations of water under confinement and at ambient conditions that predict a first-order freezing transition from a monolayer of liquid water to a monolayer of ice induced by increasing the distance between the confining parallel plates. Since a slab geometry is incompatible with a tetrahedral arrangement of

Wind Tunnel Test of the Icing Characteristics of Airfoil Rotating around a Vertical Axis
To determine the process of icing on the rotating machinery, an icing experiment on a rotating airfoil blade was carried out in this paper. First, an icing wind tunnel was fabricated, and its conditional parameters were calibrated.
