In dit artikel wil ik de aandacht vestigen op een nog onuitgegeven preek van Amphilochius van Iconium. Deze was aldaar in 373 op jeug dige leeftijd tot bisschop benoemd. Hij behoorde tot de kring van de 'grote Cappadociers' en was hoogstwaarschijnlijk een neef van Gregorius van Nazianzus.
