Erving Goffman at 100: A Chameleon Seen as a Rorschach Test within a Kaleidoscope

Drawing on his work, the Goffman archives, the secondary literature, and personal experiences with him and those in his university of Chicago cohort, I reflect on some implications of his work and life, and the inseparable issues of understanding society.

No Art on a Dead Planet: Political Iconoclasm as Climate Activism

I analyse this mode of protest, which I term political iconoclasm, and offer a novel partial defence of political iconoclasm as a protest strategy for environmental activists. I focus on Just Stop Oil's attack on van Gogh's Sunflowers.
