Employee diversity and litigation risk: Evidence from the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act

open access: yesJournal of Financial Research, EarlyView.
Abstract We examine the valuation effects of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which increases potential litigation over discriminatory compensation. Firms with relatively fewer women exhibit significant 3‐day abnormal returns of −0.61% around the passage of the Act, whereas firms with more women show no effect.

Linking sap flow and tree water deficit in an unmanaged, mixed beech forest during the summer drought 2022

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Sap flow and reversible stem shrinkage upon water depletion are strongly correlated under extreme drought conditions, but they respond differently to drought and cannot be used interchangeably when assessing tree response to drought. Abstract Temperate mixed forests are currently experiencing severe drought conditions and face increased risk of ...

Recurrent hot droughts cause persistent legacy effects in a temperate Scots Pine forest

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
A series of hot drought events caused persistent legacy effects in a Scots Pine forest, with severe negative impacts on ecosystem carbon fluxes. Abstract Recent hot‐dry events have caused significant impacts and legacy effects in temperate ecosystems. Here, we investigate legacy effects of the 2018 hot drought on a Pinus sylvestris L.

No legacy effects of severe drought on carbon and water fluxes in a Mediterranean oak forest

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
A Mediterranean Quercus ilex forest was severely affected by a drought in 2017 but fully recovered in the following year, supported by favourable weather and growing conditions both before and after the event. Abstract Severe droughts affect vegetation through several processes, such as hydraulic failure, early leaf senescence, depletion of carbon ...

The Construction of Compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation in Global Coffee Value Chains

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The European Union's Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) obliges the importers and users of seven agricultural commodities to achieve supply chain traceability and prevent deforestation‐linked products from entering the EU market. This paper investigates how companies and producing countries in the coffee sector prepared for EUDR compliance by ...

Long‐Term Storage of Meteoric Water in the Variscan Basement: Stable Isotope Constraints (δD–δ18O)

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT F‐Ba‐Pb‐Zn (±Ag) deposits near the unconformity between the Armorican and Aquitaine basins formed by mixing surface waters and brines with fluid ascending from the basement. To better constrain the source of this fluid and the conditions of mixing, we analyzed the hydrogen (δDwater) and oxygen (δ18Owater) isotopic composition of water trapped ...

Radiographic assessment of popliteal sesamoid position and cranial tibial subluxation in canine stifle joints undergoing TPLO: A retrospective study of 163 dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To determine the prevalence of popliteal sesamoid displacement (PSD) in dogs with cranial cruciate ligament disease (CCLD) on radiographs, assess its reduction following tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO), and evaluate cranial tibial subluxation (CTS) pre‐ and postoperatively.

Efficacy of combined varenicline and nicotine replacement therapy compared with varenicline or nicotine replacement therapy alone for smoking cessation: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesAddiction, Volume 121, Issue 3, Page 499-509, March 2026.
Abstract Aims To assess whether combining nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) with varenicline improves long‐term smoking cessation rates compared with varenicline or NRT alone. Method Systematic review and meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or quasi‐RCTs, conducted according to PRISMA guidelines.
