Long‐Term Changes in Planktonic Ciliate Beta Diversity Under Contrasting Hydrological Regulation in A River–Floodplain System [PDF]
Hydrological regulation by dams reshaped ciliate biodiversity over 14 years, increasing temporal compositional change and ecological uniqueness while accelerating declines in richness and density. These results highlight flood‐pulse dynamics as a fundamental mechanism sustaining biodiversity and ecological integrity in river‐floodplain ecosystems ...

Effects of Glyphosate on the Planktonic Microbiota: An Experimental Approach. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Glyphosate is one of the most widely used herbicides in the world, including in Brazil, and its dispersion through habitats and surface waters can impact entire aquatic ecosystems. However, experimental studies evaluating the effects of pesticides on whole planktonic communities, considering attributes such as richness, density and composition—

Hybridization, Maternal Inheritance, and Evolutionary Time of Divergence of Endangered Species of Hypancistrus (Siluriformes: Loricariidae) in the Xingu River. [PDF]
We uncover recent hybridization dynamics among three endemic Hypancistrus species from the Xingu River, including the critically endangered H. zebra. Mitogenomic analyses reveal unidirectional maternal inheritance and recent evolutionary radiation (< 0.5 Ma), explaining their retained reproductive compatibility.
