DNA Polymerization in Icy Moon Abyssal Pressure Conditions
Evidence of stable liquid water oceans beneath the ice crust of moons within the Solar System is of great interest for astrobiology. In particular, subglacial oceans may present hydrothermal processes in their abysses, similarly to terrestrial hydrothermal vents.

Abstract Ancient Maya texts are informationally dominated by hieroglyphic inscriptions and visually dominated by figural art with distinctly formed hands. The hands suggest iconographically embedded hand signs, which would constitute a unique modality of semantic expression and a discourse complement to hieroglyphic writing.

Water ice lines and the formation of giant moons around super-Jovian planets [PDF]
Most of the exoplanets with known masses at Earth-like distances to Sun-like stars are heavier than Jupiter, which raises the question of whether such planets are accompanied by detectable, possibly habitable moons. Here we simulate the accretion disks around super-Jovian planets and find that giant moons with masses similar to Mars can form.

Are auditors insulated to positive client news? Evidence from audit fees and going‐concern opinions
Abstract This paper investigates if and how auditors consider positive news, related to their clients, when making audit decisions. Using a large sample of US listed companies, we find that auditors charge lower audit fees and are less likely to issue going‐concern opinions when there are a higher number of positive news items related to their clients.
