Implementing 64-bit Maximally Equidistributed $\mathbb{F}_2$-Linear Generators with Mersenne Prime Period

open access: yes, 2017
CPUs and operating systems are moving from 32 to 64 bits, and hence it is important to have good pseudorandom number generators designed to fully exploit these word lengths. However, existing 64-bit very long period generators based on linear recurrences

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 9, Page 2537-2556, September 2025.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

FLASH Irradiation Modulates Immune Responses and Accelerates Lung Recovery: A Single‐Cell Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 34, September 11, 2025.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing reveals distinct immune responses to FLASH versus conventional dose rate irradiation in early radiation‐induced lung injury. FLASH irradiation reduces Ccrl2⁺ neutrophil infiltration, activates CD4⁺ CD40L⁺ Th cells, restrains pro‐inflammatory Mefv⁺ monocytes, and enhances epithelial repair via TGF‐β signaling, underscoring its

Pancreatic Islet Cell Hormones: Secretion, Function, and Diabetes Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
The pancreatic islets, composed of α, β, δ, ε, and PP cells, play a central role in maintaining glucose homeostasis. This review examines the mechanisms of islet hormone secretion and their functional crosstalk networks, alongside the pathophysiology of diabetes driven by hormonal dysregulation.
