Novel Gene‐Copy‐Specific KASP Markers for Efficient Marker‐Assisted Development of Low Vicine Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.)

open access: yesPlant Breeding, Volume 144, Issue 4, Page 573-579, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Vicine and convicine (v‐c) pose significant challenges to the global use of faba beans, causing favism in susceptible individuals. Developing low v‐c faba beans is crucial to enhance their utilization and safety, but progress has been hindered by insufficient genomic tools for marker‐assisted selection.

Vitamin‐C‐dependent downregulation of the citrate metabolism pathway potentiates pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma growth arrest

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 18, Issue 9, Page 2212-2233, September 2024.
Citrate metabolism, crucial for pancreatic cancer proliferation, is targeted by vitamin C, potentiating gemcitabine‐induced growth arrest. Ascorbate inhibits citrate synthase, diminishing glucose‐derived citrate levels. Ascorbic acid exposure not only reduces citrate generation but also targets catabolism, downregulating ACLY and FASN expression.

Underway measurement of cyanobacterial microcystins using a surface plasmon resonance sensor on an autonomous underwater vehicle

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 22, Issue 9, Page 681-699, September 2024.
Abstract Freshwater cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms (CHABs) are a well‐known global public health threat. Monitoring and early detection of CHAB toxins are currently accomplished using labor‐intensive sampling techniques and subsequent shore‐based analyses, with results typically reported 24–48 h after sample collection.

The effect of exogenous melatonin administration before superovulation on embryo yield in Assaf ewes

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 59, Issue 7, July 2024.
Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the effect of exogenous melatonin administration on transferable embryos by increasing total antioxidant status before superovulation in Assaf ewes. Selected ewes were randomly divided into two equal groups: melatonin (n = 9) and control (n = 9).

What's trust got to do with it? Examining trust in leadership, psychological capital, and employee well‐being in a cross‐national context during Covid‐19

open access: yesEuropean Management Review, Volume 21, Issue 1, Page 31-44, March 2024.
Abstract We propose and test the idea that trust in the senior leadership team is needed to help overcome the potential widespread decrements to employee well‐being resulting from the Covid‐19 pandemic. Drawing on conservation of resources theory, we suggest that psychological capital mediates the relationship between trust in the senior leadership ...
