Current trends in single‐cell RNA sequencing applications in diabetes mellitus
Single‐cell RNA sequencing is a powerful approach to decipher the cellular and molecular landscape at a single‐cell resolution. The rapid development of this technology has led to a wide range of applications, including the detection of cellular and molecular mechanisms and the identification and introduction of novel potential diagnostic and ...

Summary In this contribution, we propose a detailed study of interpolation‐based data‐driven methods that are of relevance in the model reduction and also in the systems and control communities. The data are given by samples of the transfer function of the underlying (unknown) model, that is, we analyze frequency‐response data.

Unique factorization of ideals into nonfactorable ideals [PDF]
The purpose of this note is to prove a theorem which shows a connection between the definition of a prime ideal in classical algebraic number theory and the usual definition of a prime ideal. A proper ideal in an integral domain with unit element is an ideal different from the unit ideal and the zero ideal.

The E3 ubiquitin ligase, RNF219, suppresses CNOT6L expression to exhibit antiproliferative activity
We identified RNF219 as a CCR4‐NOT complex‐interacting E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets the CCR4‐NOT subunit CNOT6L for ubiquitination. RNF219 directly binds to the DUF3819 domain of CNOT1 through its putative α‐helix spanning amino acids 521–542. Our findings also suggest that antiproliferative activity of RNF219 is at least partially mediated by ...

Data‐driven performance metrics for neural network learning
Summary Effectiveness of data‐driven neural learning in terms of both local mimima trapping and convergence rate is addressed. Such issues are investigated in a case study involving the training of one‐hidden‐layer feedforward neural networks with the extended Kalman filter, which reduces the search for the optimal network parameters to a state ...

Geoengineering and Non-Ideal Theory [PDF]
The strongest arguments for the permissibility of geoengineering (also known as climate engineering) rely implicitly on non-ideal theory—roughly, the theory of justice as applied to situations of partial compliance with principles of ideal justice. In an

Given a ring R we consider the category Ŕ of R-rings (rings A with given ring-homomorphisms R → A), and R-homomorphisms (ring-homomorphisms that form commutative triangles with the given maps from R). All rings are associative and have 1, all homomorphisms send 1 to 1.We define a c-R-ring as an object A in Ŕ with a family of maps {ρx ∈ homŔ(A,A)|x∈A ...

Patch‐clamp recordings revealed that tamoxifen inhibits voltage‐gated sodium channels, especially under acidic conditions, both common in metastatic cancer cells. These effects may explain certain antitumor properties of tamoxifen, highlighting a novel mechanism of action beyond its known endocrine effects.

ON ℐ^𝒦-CONVERGENCE OF SEQUENCES OF BI-COMPLEX NUMBERS
We propose the concept of ℐ^𝒦-convergence of sequences of bi-complex numbers. We explore the fundamental properties of this newly introduced notion and its relationships with other convergence ...

Approaching the ideal elastic strain limit in silicon nanowires
Single-crystalline silicon nanowires can be reversibly stretched above 10% elastic strain at room temperature. Achieving high elasticity for silicon (Si) nanowires, one of the most important and versatile building blocks in nanoelectronics, would enable ...
