Effective description of dark matter as a viscous fluid
Treating dark matter at large scales as an effectively viscous fluid provides an improved framework for the calculation of the density and velocity power spectra compared to the standard assumption of an ideal pressureless fluid.

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

This paper presents a first mathematical convergence analysis of a Fock states feedback stabilization scheme via single-photon corrections. This measurement-based feedback has been developed and experimentally tested in 2012 by the cavity quantum ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Ideal convergence of bounded sequences
AbstractWe generalize the Bolzano-Weierstrass theorem (that every bounded sequence of reals admits a convergent subsequence) on ideal convergence. We show examples of ideals with and without the Bolzano-Weierstrass property, and give characterizations of BW property in terms of submeasures and extendability to a maximal P-ideal. We show applications to

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

On I-acceleration convergence of sequences of fuzzy real numbers
In this article we introduce the notion of ideal acceleration convergence of sequences of fuzzy real numbers. We have proved a decomposition theorem for ideal acceleration convergence of sequences as well as for subsequence transformations and studied ...
