Peremptory Norms in International Law; Development or Revolution of Sources of International Law (A Comparative Analysis of National Legal Systems)

open access: yesMajallah-i ḥuqūq-i taṭbīqī, 2015
Contemporary international law introduces a notion of peremptory norms comparable to hierarchy of norms in national legal system. A jus cogens is a norm of international law considered so fundamental that it overrides all other sources of international ...

Phase Evolution Kinetics in Additive‐Free 19.75% Organic Photovoltaics Empowered by Solvent Vapor Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solvent vapor annealing enables kinetic control of additive‐free morphology in organic solar cells. Selective plasticization of acceptor forms an optimal fibrillar network, boosting efficiency to 19.06% (binary) and 19.75% (ternary), with ultrafast exciton dissociation and reduced recombination.

The Ideals of the Rule of Law [PDF]

open access: yesOxford Journal of Legal Studies, 2016
Choices that are underdetermined by reason, such as choices arising from incommensurability among values, involve an element of arbitrariness, and arbitrary choices are commonly thought to be inimical to the rule of law. In this article, I suggest that we should distinguish between two different ideals of the rule of law, and that the arbitrariness of ...

Powering Nanocrystal‐Based Heat Engines With Light‐Emitting Metasurfaces That Influence Their Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

Dye‐Initiated Chirped Cholesteric Polymer Networks Exhibiting Broadband Dissipative Chiral Photonic Bands

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dye‐based photoinitiator acting as a structure‐directing element, guides the formation of a cholesteric polymer network that behaves as a chirped photonic structure with dissipative chiral coupling. Photopolymerization freezes a depth‐dependent helical pitch, broadening the Bragg resonance spectrum.

On the ideal gas law

open access: yes, 2011
The air density on earth decays as a function of altitude $z$ approximately according to an $\exp(-w\,z/θ)$-law, where $w$ denotes the weight of a nitrogen molecule and $θ=\kB T$ where $k_B$ is a constant and $T$ the thermodynamic temperature. To derive this law one usually invokes the Boltzmann factor, itself derived from statistical considerations ...

Hierarchical MXene‐Derived NTP/C Nanohybrids for Cryogenic Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical MXene‐derived NaTi2(PO4)3/C nanohybrid enables efficient sodium‐ion storage down to −40°C by integrating fast ion–electron transport pathways with an ether‐based electrolyte. The system promotes dominant pseudocapacitive behavior and forms a robust inorganic‐rich SEI, collectively mitigating kinetic and interfacial limitations, thereby ...

Ideal Gas Laws [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Abstract This is the first chapter to explicitly address fluid media. For springs and solids, Hooke’s law, or its generalization using stress, strain, and elastic moduli provided an equation of state. In fluids, we have an equation of state that relates changes in pressure (stresses) to changes in density (strain).

PENAFSIRAN HUKUM PROGRESIF DALAM PERKARA PIDANA

open access: yesMimbar Hukum, 2012
The progressive law perspective emphasizes discovery of law as an effort to explore the community’s living values. We hold that this perspective suits the need of Indonesian people.
