Neutrophil deficiency increases T cell numbers at the site of tissue injury in mice
In wild‐type mice, injury or acute inflammation induces neutrophil influx followed by macrophage accumulation. Mcl1ΔMyelo (neutrophil‐deficient) mice lack neutrophils, and in response to muscle injury show fewer macrophages and exhibit strikingly elevated T‐cell numbers, primarily non‐conventional “double‐negative” (DN) αβ and γδ T cells.

Does education reduce the probability of being overweight? [PDF]
This paper analyses the causal effect of education on the probability of being overweight by using longitudinal data of Australian identical twins. The data include self-reported and clinical measures of body size.

Functional role and folding properties of the glucan‐binding domain of oral bacterial glucansucrase
The role of the glucan‐binding domain in Streptococcus sobrinus glucansucrase was examined, focusing on its impact on enzymatic activity, dextran binding, and structural stability of deletion mutants and a circularly permuted protein. Our research revealed that glucosyl transfer efficiency is linked to cooperative interdomain folding.

The yeast mitoribosome assembly factor Rsm22 contains a [4Fe‐4S] cluster that is matured by the mitochondrial iron–sulfur cluster assembly (ISC) machinery. Defects in ISC components result in impaired mitochondrial protein synthesis due to a mitoribosome assembly defect.

Social Factors and Health: Description of a new Norwegian twin study
A compelling literature substantiates that our social worlds have significant and far-reaching effects on health and well-being throughout life. Yet, few studies of social factors and their effects on health have been embedded within the twin design ...

Early Phonological Acquisition in a Set of English-Spanish Bilingual Twins [PDF]
Producción CientíficaThis study is the first attempt to examine the early phonological development of bilingual twins. It sought to determine the extent to which the phonological acquisition of twins was similar, and the extent to which the phonological ...

STUDIES OF HUMAN TWINS II. ASYMMETRY REVERSAL, OF MIRROR IMAGING IN IDENTICAL TWINS
One of the most striking phenomena observed among monozygotic twins is that of the reversal of asymmetry between the individuals of a pair. Among armadillo quadruplets the present writer (Newman, I916) found numerous instances in which a band or scute ...

C‐mannosylation is a unique form of protein glycosylation. In this study, we demonstrated that ADAMTS1 is C‐mannosylated at Trp562 and Trp565 in human testicular germ cell tumor NEC8 cells. We found that C‐mannosylation of ADAMTS1 is essential for its secretion, processing, enzymatic activity, and ability to promote vasculogenic mimicry. These findings

Epigenetic Basis of Twin Discordance in Diseases: Future Benefits
Monozygotic twins share the same genotype since they are derived from the same zygote. However, monozygotic (MZ) twin siblings frequently present many phenotypic differences, such as their susceptibilities to diseases.
