Sweetpotato Insects: Identification, Biology and Management
2009Sweetpotato, Ipomoea batatas originated in northwestern South America around 8000–6000 Bc (Austin, 1988). Sweetpotato ranks seventh among all food crops worldwide, with an annual production of 115 million MT (FAO, 1980). Approximately 92% of the world’s sweetpotato is produced in Asia and the Pacific islands; 89% is grown in China.

Significance of bacterial identification by molecular biology methods
Endodontic Topics, 2004Rapid advances in molecular biology over the last 20 years have provided a bewildering array of techniques aimed at helping us to tease apart all aspects of biology. The discipline of microbiology has gained greatly from these advances especially with respect to detection and identification of micro‐organisms.

In Silico Systems Biology Approaches for the Identification of Antimicrobial Targets
2013Classical antibiotic discovery efforts have relied mainly on molecular library screening coupled with target-based lead optimization. The conventional approaches are unable to tackle the emergence of antibiotic resistance and are failing to provide understanding of multiple mechanisms behind drug actions and the off-target effects.

Molecular Biology Techniques for the Identification and Genotyping of Microorganisms
2019The advent in molecular biology techniques has enabled, to a great extent, numerous identification and detection techniques of microorganisms by amplifying specific conserved DNA sequences. From time-to-time, the tremendous modifications have been employed in search of a rapid and inexpensive microbial identification method and now a whole genome to be

Introduction: Biology, Distribution, and Identification of Pest Diabrotica
1986Diabrotica is a large New World genus of galerucine chrysomelids that includes several pests. The catalog of Wilcox (1972) lists 338 species in three groups; the virgifera and fucata groups include pests. The genus has never been revised systematically, but the synopsis by Wilcox (1965) provides a systematic context for this genus in North America ...

Molecular biology for Phytoseiidae identification: preliminary results
2008The Phytoseiidae has stirred a great interest since the 1950's as the role of a few efficient species in the biological control of tetranychid mites has been emphasized. Whereas only less than 30 species were known in 1951, more than 2,000 have been described up to now. Species description is only based on a morphological species definition.
