Identical non-identical twins and non-identical identical twins [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 2015
In recruiting monozygotic (MZ) twins for our ongoing research into de novo mutations in phenotypically discordant MZ twins, we have come across an increasing number of participants who have been told they are dizygotic (DZ) but have almost identical traits and physical features, or MZ but present more like fraternal siblings.

‘Similar To’ Is Not ‘Identical With’, and ‘Identical With’ Is Not ‘The Same As’ [PDF]

open access: yesDrugs in R&D, 2015
Presently, we have a large number of botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs) at our disposal, but in the western hemisphere these are limited almost exclusively to the botulinum toxin A preparations: Abo- (ABO), inco(INCO), and onabotulinumtoxinA (ONA). Because these are biological preparations, they are never identical to each other, but they are, at most ...

Into the Woods: A graph theoretic proof of the Dodgson/Muir identity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
The Dodgson/Muir Identity is an identity on determinants of matrix minors that generalizes the Dodgson Identity. Using the matrix tree theorem, we create an equivalent forest identity on ordered sets of $k$ forests. We then prove the generalized Forest Identity, and by extension the Dodgson/Muir Identity, using an edge-swapping involution.

Class Identities and the Identity of Class [PDF]

open access: yesSociology, 2004
In rejecting both arguments of the ‘death of class’, and the increasingly minimalist positions of class traditionalists, a newer generation of class theorists have transformed the scope and analytical framework of class analysis: inflating ‘class’ to include social and cultural formations, reconfiguring the causal model that has underpinned class ...

Two Identities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In the process of studying a conjecture of Holly M. Green and Martin W. Liebeck, we obtain two interesting identities by elementary methods, one is a combinatorial identity, and the other is a number theoretic identity.

Identities in search of identity

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1993
AbstractThe time is ripe to start a science of identities for their own sake, without paying lip-service to high-brow mathematics. Although putting combinatorial, (abstract-)algebraic or analytic flesh and blood on identities did lead and will lead to considerable insight as well as new identities, there is also much to be gained in forgetting advanced

Migration of identity, manipulation of identity, components of identity, operations of identity [PDF]

open access: yesGodisnjak Fakulteta za kulturu i medije - komunikacije, mediji, kultura, 2015
The study of identity, as a complex phenomenon, is a subject of various scientific disciplines. Although each discipline, which has the identity as a subject of research, tries to examine and describe it, however, only an interdisciplinary analysis of identity, as a phenomenon, can get a clearer and more tangible picture, and more precisely map of ...

X-ReID: Cross-Instance Transformer for Identity-Level Person Re-Identification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Currently, most existing person re-identification methods use Instance-Level features, which are extracted only from a single image. However, these Instance-Level features can easily ignore the discriminative information due to the appearance of each identity varies greatly in different images.
