Short‐term voltage stability is assessed based on phasor measurement data. The gradient concept is introduced to preprocess time series data and improve the classification. A weighted hybrid ensemble learning is proposed to predict short‐term voltage stability status in real‐time.

Enhancement of inter‐area oscillation damping by wide‐area controlled hydropower plants
In this work is presented, how the combined use of hydro governors and a wide‐area damping controller can improved the damping of occuring inter‐area oscillations in power systems. The presented centralized controller approach utilizes both, the path via the generator excitation with the voltage regulator and the path via the hydro governor for damping

Sequence of operations for real‐time control of microgrids and networked microgrids
Abstract Microgrids (MGs) provide a potential solution to accommodating renewable and distributed energy resources (DERs). MGs and the networked form of MGs, that is, networked MGs or NMGs, have received significant attention in the past two decades. However, several details that need to be considered for the practical operations of MGs and NMGs are ...

Islanding detection by phase difference method using a low cost quasi‐PMU
Abstract This paper presents a novel and cost‐effective solution for detecting the islanding condition at embedded generators using an innovative new type of phase angle detector, the "quasi‐PMU". The method works by checking the synchronism of the embedded generator with respect to a robust reference location.
