Evaluation of a newly developed rapid ELISA to detect anti-Ehrlichia canis antibodies in dogs [PDF]

open access: yesParasite
Canine monocytic ehrlichiosis (CME) is a globally prevalent disease with zoonotic potential primarily caused by the obligate intracellular bacterium Ehrlichia canis, transmitted by the ticks Rhipicephalus spp. to vertebrate hosts.

Performance of IFAT, ELISA, direct parasitological examination and PCR on lymph node aspirates for canine visceral leishmaniasis diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Venomous Animals and Toxins including Tropical Diseases, 2010
Canine visceral leishmaniasis (CVL) is endemic in numerous Brazilian regions. The greatest difficulty in controlling the disease is the diagnostic limitation.

Bayesian analysis of diagnostic sensitivity and specificity for detecting infectious salmon anaemia virus (ISAV) using IFAT and real-time RT-PCR testing from laboratories in Atlantic Canada

open access: yesAquaculture, 2023
Infectious Salmon Anaemia virus (ISAV) is the causative agent of Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA), an economically important disease in farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.).

A new ELISA kit which uses a combination of Plasmodium falciparum extract and recombinant Plasmodium vivax antigens as an alternative to IFAT for detection of malaria antibodies

open access: yesMalaria Journal, 2007
Background The methods most commonly used to measure malarial antibody titres are the Indirect Fluorescence Antibody Test (IFAT), regarded as the gold standard, and the Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA).

Toxoplasma gondii: Comparison of a rhoptry-ELISA with IFAT and MAT for antibody detection in sera of experimentally infected pigs

open access: yesExperimental Parasitology, 2006
Indirect ELISA and IFAT have been reported to be more sensitive and specific than agglutination tests. However, MAT is cheaper, easier than the others and does not need special equipment.

Comparison of the IFAT and Iscom-ELISA response in bovine foetuses with Neospora caninum infection

open access: yesInternational Journal for Parasitology, 1999
The study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of foetal serology in the diagnosis of Neospora-associated bovine abortions. Fluids from 14 foetuses of cows with confirmed neosporosis (Group A), seven foetuses with confirmed bovine viral diarrhoea ...

Evaluation of indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT) for the diagnosis and screening of lumpy skin disease using Bayesian method

open access: yesVeterinary Microbiology, 2008
The performance of indirect fluorescence antibody test (IFAT) for serological diagnosis and screening of lumpy skin disease (LSD) was evaluated using methods without gold standard. Virus neutralization test (VNT) was used as the second test and the study

Seroprevalence of Neospora caninum in Camelids of the New and Old World: A Global Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
Based on the present systematic review and meta‑analysis, the pooled prevalence of N. caninum in camelids was 10% (95% CI: 7%–12%) with significant heterogeneity (I2 = 93.75%, p < 0.0001). The highest rate was detected in Old World camelids, 14% (95% CI: 10%–19%), indicating that this group is more susceptible to N. caninum exposure.

Indirect Fluorescent antibody test for serodiagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis: An epidemiological study in Iraq. [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة جامعة الانبار للعلوم الصرفة, 2012
Fourteen thousand, five hundred and two sera of patients from sixteen governorates in Iraq ,suspected to be parasitized by Leishmania donovani, have been tested during the period January 2000 to December 2002, by indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT)
