Environmental, Economic and Exergy Analysis of a Parabolic Trough Solar Collector with Finned Absorber Tube [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Heat and Mass Transfer Research
Considering the excellent properties of hybrid nanofluids, it is a good idea to use them to improve the performance of solar collectors. The performance of a parabolic trough solar collector equipped with an internally finned absorber tube (IFAT) has ...

Age-dependent dynamics of Theileria equi and Babesia caballi infections in southwest Mongolia based on IFAT and/or PCR prevalence data from domestic horses and ticks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Epidemiological factors of tick-borne equine piroplasmoses, caused by Theileria equi and Babesia caballi, were investigated using logistic regression (GLM) and general additive models (GAM) based on the prevalences determined in 510 domestic horses and ...

Precursor Mineral Phases of Forming Mollusk Shell Nacre: A Study of Hydrated Samples

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 17, 26 February 2026.
Mineral, organic phase, and water are the essential components in mollusk shell nacre formation. Their interplay is not well understood, because the hydrated material is difficult to observe at high resolution, under close to native conditions. Forming nacre is studied using environmental and cryo‐electron microscopy and hydrated ACC phases, together ...

Serosurveillance of Leishmania infantum in Zoo‐Kept Animals in Spain

open access: yesZoonoses and Public Health, Volume 73, Issue 1, Page 65-73, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Leishmaniosis is a sand fly‐borne zoonosis mainly caused by Leishmania infantum in Europe. Exposure to this protozoan has been widely reported in many domestic and wild species. However, epidemiological surveys evaluating the circulation of L. infantum in zoo‐kept animals remain limited. This large‐scale study aims to evaluate the

VHSV and IHNV in the Environment: Assessment and Comparison of eRNA‐Based Methods for Detection in Aquaculture

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 1, January–February 2026.
VHSV and IHNV molecular detection in environmental samples was tested in controlled infection trials. We show that, in water, detected viral eRNA copies correlate with infectious particle numbers. After comparison of viral concentration methods from water, we demonstrate the feasibility of filter‐based eRNA detection in IHNV‐positive aquaculture farms.
