Meta‐analysis of trapping data from southeast Asia show no regular multi‐annual patterns in rodent populations in rice fields. Population of both Rattus argentiventer and Rattus tanezumi respond to rainfall patterns. Certain combinations of rainfall parameters could help to predict years when there is higher rodent abundance in rice fields.
