INTEGRATED BEACH MANAGEMENT AT IGEA MARINA, ITALY: RESULTS OF TEN-YEARS MONITORING [PDF]

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 2011
This contribution analyses the hydro-morphological effects induced by low crested structures confined by lateral groynes at Igea Marina beach, Northern Adriatic Sea, Italy The site has been monitored since the works started for these last ten years.

Hard X-ray flux from low-mass stars in the Cygnus OB2 Association

open access: yes, 2009
Context. The Cygnus OB2 association, the central engine of the Cygnus X star-forming region, is the subject of an extensive INTEGRAL Key Project that will accumulate 6Ms of observations.

The Effect of the Hall Term on the Nonlinear Evolution of the Magnetorotational Instability: I. Local Axisymmetric Simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The effect of the Hall term on the evolution of the magnetorotational instability (MRI) in weakly ionized accretion disks is investigated using local axisymmetric simulations.

Electric charging of dust aggregates and its effect on dust coagulation in protoplanetary disks

open access: yes, 2009
Mutual sticking of dust aggregates is the first step toward planetesimal formation in protoplanetary disks. In spite that the electric charging of dust particles is well recognized in some contexts, it has been largely ignored in the current modeling of ...

Biometry and taxonomy of Adriatic Ammonia species from Bellaria–Igea Marina (Italy)

open access: yesJournal of Micropalaeontology, 2021
Living Ammonia species and an inventory of dead assemblages from Adriatic subtidal, nearshore environments were investigated at four stations off Bellaria, Italy. Ammonia falsobeccarii, Ammonia parkinsoniana, Ammonia tepida, and Ammonia veneta were recognized in the living (rose-bengal-stained) fauna, and Ammonia bellaria n. sp. is described herein for

Speciation with gene flow

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Biodiversity is threatened by human activities, with extinction debt accumulating rapidly. Many of these activities change the connectivity of populations, fragmenting existing population systems or bringing previously isolated populations or species into contact.

Postauricular Skin Mycobiome Profiles in Atopic Dermatitis Treated With Dupilumab or Cyclosporine A: A Descriptive Case Series

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Atopic dermatitis (AD) essentially exhibits dysbiosis of skin fungal microbiome, mycobiome, characterized by depletion of Malassezia. The effects of recent systemic therapies for AD on skin mycobiome were not understood enough. We examined changes of skin mycobiome before and after systemic treatments with anti‐IL‐4Rα antibody (dupilumab: DUP)

Atomic Diagnostics of X-ray Irradiated Protoplanetary Disks

open access: yes, 2007
We study atomic line diagnostics of the inner regions of protoplanetary disks with our model of X-ray irradiated disk atmospheres which was previously used to predict observable levels of the NeII and NeIII fine-structure transitions at 12.81 and 15 ...

Dust Transport in Protostellar Disks Through Turbulence and Settling

open access: yes, 2009
We apply ionization balance and MHD calculations to investigate whether magnetic activity moderated by recombination on dust can account for the mass accretion rates and the mid-infrared spectra and variability of protostellar disks. The MHD calculations

Role of comorbidities and medication on immunotherapy efficacy in cSCC: A DeCOG multicentre analysis

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Immunosuppressive disease was associated with reduced overall survival, while anticoagulant use was linked to prolonged progression‐free survival in advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors. Host‐related factors may modulate immunotherapy efficacy and warrant prospective validation.
