METHOD OF CALCULATION OF AIR-FUEL MIXTURE MINIMUM IGNITION ENERGY IN GAS ENGINE [PDF]
The improved method of minimum ignition energy calculation in a gas engine that takes into account radiation energy losses in a flame kernel has been presented. Comparison of calculation results using this model with experimental data has been performed.

Numerical simulation of drop weight impact sensitivity evaluation criteria for pressed PBXs
A thorough understanding of drop-weight impacted responses for polymer-bonded explosives (PBXs) is significant to evaluate their impact sensitivity. The characteristics of the drop-weight impacted pressed PBXs including deforming, fracturing, forming a ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

By designing a P/N‐ and π–π interacting biphenyl‐containing diol as hard segments but side groups, a strong, tough, fire‐extinguishing and self‐healing elastomer is developed, demonstrating a break strain of ∼2500%, a toughness of 379 MJ/m3 and a tensile strength of 46 MPa, as well as a healing efficiency of 95% (tensile strength) and 99% (break strain)

Polymer electrolytes (PEs) are often indiscriminately grouped as “solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs)”, despite fundamental differences in their ion‐transport mechanisms. This Perspective establishes a mechanism‐based framework that distinguishes gel, quasi‐solid, and all‐solid polymer electrolytes based on their dominant ion‐transport pathways.

Ignition of organic explosives by an electron beam
A numerical simulation of the ignition of organic explosives (PETN, HMX, RDX, TATB) with an electron beam was performed. A criterion for the ignition of energetic materials with a melting point below the temperature of ignition is obtained.
