Effects of two commercial diets and two supplements on urinary pH in dogs. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci, 2023
The present study confirms that therapeutic foods S/O and u/d and potassium citrate supplement (65–105 mg/kg BW/2dd) affected acid‐base balance in healthy adult male Beagle dogs, by a change of urinary pH ≥0.5 at different time points during the alkaline tide after a meal.

Do Conflicts Influence the Accumulation of Bonding, Bridging, and Linking Social Capital? Insights From Cameroon. [PDF]

open access: yesCan Rev Sociol

Effects of dopamine β-hydroxylase inhibition in pressure overload-induced right ventricular failure. [PDF]

open access: yesPulm Circ
Abstract Activation of the sympathetic nervous system is observed in pulmonary arterial hypertension patients. This study investigates whether inhibiting the conversion of dopamine into noradrenaline by dopamine β‐hydroxylase (DβH) inhibition with BIA 21‐5337 improved right ventricular (RV) function or remodeling in pressure overload‐induced RV failure.

Wheat and faba bean intercropping and cultivar impacts on morphology, disease, and yield

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 115, Issue 6, Page 3010-3024, November/December 2023., 2023
Abstract Modern agriculture relies heavily on synthetic fertilizer and pesticide inputs. Pressure is increasing to find alternatives that reduce such inputs. In comparison to monocultures, intercropping can reduce plant diseases and increase yield, thereby reducing inputs and maximizing land use efficiency.

The extreme 2016 wheat yield failure in France

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 29, Issue 11, Page 3130-3146, June 2023., 2023
Abstract France suffered, in 2016, the most extreme wheat yield decline in recent history, with some districts losing 55% yield. To attribute causes, we combined the largest coherent detailed wheat field experimental dataset with statistical and crop model techniques, climate information, and yield physiology.

Printed Humidity Sensors from Renewable and Biodegradable Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 8, Issue 5, March 10, 2023., 2023
This sensor platform comprises interdigitated electrodes serving as a capacitive transducer for humidity sensing, and a serpentine used as a resistive temperature detector. The proposed renewable materials, in combination with the entirely additive manufacturing process, lead to environmentally friendly single‐use sensors.
