Bootstrapping Swarm and observatory data to generate candidates for the DGRF and IGRF-13
As posted by the Working Group V of the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA), the 13th generation of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) has been released at the end of 2019.

The IGRF offers an important incentive for testing algorithms predicting the Earth’s magnetic field changes, known as secular variation (SV), in a 5-year range. Here, we present a SV candidate model for the 13th IGRF that stems from a sequential ensemble

Comparison of candidate IGRF models.
Three candidate models for the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) for the years 1965, 1970, 1975, and 1980 are evaluated using magnetic observatory and satellite data. The models were submitted by the USGS, the IGS, and NASA. Comparison based on annual means data shows the differences between models to be small, although the NASA model ...

Can core-surface flow models be used to improve the forecast of the Earth's main magnetic field? [PDF]
[1] Geomagnetic main field models used for navigation are updated every 5 years and contain a forecast of the geomagnetic secular variation for the upcoming epoch. Forecasting secular variation is a difficult task.

Evidence-based uncertainty estimates for the International Geomagnetic Reference Field
The International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) is a multi-institute model of the Earth’s magnetic field, compactly described by sets of up to 195 spherical harmonic (Gauss) coefficients to degree and order 13, which allows the continuous evaluation

IZMIRAN candidate field model for IGRF-13
The International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) model is a combination of the several models developed by independent groups of scientists using different approaches for the selection of input data and methods for calculating harmonic coefficients ...

Parent magnetic field models for the IGRF-12GFZ-candidates [PDF]
We propose candidate models for IGRF-12. These models were derived from parent models built from 10 months of Swarm satellite data and 1.5 years of magnetic observatory data. Using the same parameterisation, a magnetic field model was built from a slightly extended satellite data set.
