Massive IIA supergravities [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2005
We perform a systematic search for all possible massive deformations of IIA supergravity in ten dimensions. We show that there exist exactly two possibilities: Romans supergravity and Howe-Lambert-West supergravity. Along the way we give the full details of the ten-dimensional superspace formulation of the latter.

Superstring dualities and p-brane bound states [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We show that the M-theory/IIA and IIA/IIB superstring dualities together with the diffeomorphism invariance of the underlying theories require the presence of certain p-brane bound states in IIA and IIB superstring theories preserving 1/2 of the ...

Inactivation of cloned Na channels expressed in Xenopus oocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
This study investigates the inactivation properties of Na channels expressed in Xenopus oocytes from two rat IIA Na channel cDNA clones differing by a single amino acid residue.

Type IIA String and Matrix String on PP-wave [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We study type IIA string theories on the pp-waves with 24 supercharges. The type IIA pp-wave backgrounds are derived from the maximally supersymmetric pp-wave solution in eleven dimensions through the toroidal compactification on the spatial isometry ...

New Examples of Flux Vacua [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Type IIB toroidal orientifolds are among the earliest examples of flux vacua. By applying T-duality, we construct the first examples of massive IIA flux vacua with Minkowski space-times, along with new examples of type IIA flux vacua. The backgrounds are

Duality of Type II 7-branes and 8-branes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We present a version of ten-dimensional IIA supergravity containing a 9-form potential for which the field equations are equivalent to those of the standard, massless, IIA theory for vanishing 10-form field strength, $F_{10}$, and to those of the ...

Duality symmetric massive type II theories in D=8 and D=6 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We study $T^2$ compactification of massive type IIA supergravity in presence of possible Ramond-Ramond (RR) background fluxes. The resulting theory in D=8 is shown to possess full $SL(2,R)\times SL(2,R)$ T-duality symmetry similar to the massless case ...

On the construction of variant supergravities in D=11, D=10 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We construct with a geometric procedure the supersymmetry transformation laws and Lagrangian for all the ``variant'' D=11 and D=10 Type IIA supergravities.

STRING STRING DUALITY CONJECTURE IN SIX DIMENSIONS AND CHARGED SOLITONIC STRINGS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
It has recently been conjectured that the type IIA string theory compactified on K3 and the heterotic string theory compactified on a four dimensional torus describe identical string theories.

Calabi-Yau Duals for CHL Strings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We find M-theory (Type IIA) duals for compactifications of the 9d CHL string to 5d (4d) on K3 (K3 x S^1). The IIA duals are Calabi-Yau orbifolds with nontrivial RR U(1) backgrounds turned on.Comment: 16 pages ...
