This study identifies vacuole membrane protein 1 (VMP1) as a critical regulator of intestinal epithelial barrier homeostasis. VMP1 facilitates the recruitment of CORO1C to late endosomes, supporting Retromer‐mediated recycling of the tight junction protein Occludin.

Ileal Neuroendocrine Neoplasm: Diagnostic Imaging, Risk Factors, and Management Implications
ABSTRACT Early detection of small bowel neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), even when incidentally discovered, is crucial for improving outcomes. This case highlights the importance of recognizing incidental findings during imaging, as timely surgical intervention and multidisciplinary management can prevent progression, mitigate morbidity, and improve ...

Natural compounds regulate gut microbiota by improving microbial balance and increasing probiotics, which boost short‐chain fatty acid production to alleviate insulin resistance and inflammation. Additionally, they stimulate appetite‐suppressing hormones through bile acid signaling, while inhibiting pathogenic bacteria to repair intestinal barrier ...

Clostridium perfringens forms heat‐resistant spores that complicate food safety. Physical methods (thermal processing, HPP, vacuum cooling, ozone treatments) and chemical interventions (natural antimicrobials, phosphates, nitrate/nitrite, organic acids) reduce vegetative cells and spores, though spore resistance remains a major challenge in food and ...

LL‐37: Biological Mechanisms and Emerging Therapeutic Applications in Intestinal Disease
ABSTRACT Human cathelicidin peptide LL‐37 is encoded by the CAMP gene and plays a key role in innate immunity. It maintains intestinal homeostasis through antibacterial, immunomodulation, and tissue repair functions. This paper reviews the multiple functions of LL‐37 in the intestinal‐immune axis and its contribution to intestinal immune homeostasis. A
