Crohn’s Disease Developing in an Ileal Conduit

A patient is described who had undergone cystectomy and an ileal conduit 7 years previously for carcinoma of the bladder. He had pain and bleeding from the ileal conduit. An ileoscopy through the conduit revealed the typical findings of Crohn's disease. Steroid therapy was instituted with a good clinical response.

Vascular pattern in ileal Crohn's disease.

Angio-, histo- and microangiographic studies were performed on five operative specimens of chronic regional enteritis affecting the ileum. In every patient the vascular pattern differed greatly from that seen in normal ileum and the changes were similar in each investigation.
