Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

Regularization of Linear Ill-posed Problems in Two Steps: Combination of Data Smoothing and Reconstruction Methods

open access: yes, 2006
This thesis is a contribution to the field of ill-posed inverse problems . During the last ten years a new development in this field has taken place: Besides operator-adapted methods for the solution of inverse problems also methods adjusted to ...

Stimuli‐Responsive Hierarchical Structuring Controls Survival and Programs Hydrogelation of Supramolecular Metallofibers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous Zn(II) Salphen metallofibers decorated with PNIPAM undergo reversible, multi‐stimuli‐responsive hierarchical bundling. This higher‐order structuring kinetically stabilizes the otherwise fragile assemblies against dilution, acidic hydrolysis, and transmetallation, enables selective sorting of responsive fibers, and programs hydrogelation at ...

A quasi-boundary-value method for the Cauchy problem for elliptic equations with nonhomogeneous Neumann data

open access: yes, 2010
A Cauchy problem for elliptic equations with nonhomogeneous Neumann datain a cylindrical domain is investigated in this paper. For the theoretical aspect the a-prioriand a-posteriori parameter choice rules are suggested and the corresponding error ...

Complexity of linear ill-posed problems in Hilbert space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Information complexity of ill-posed problems may be seen as controversial. On the one hand side there were pessimistic results stating that the complexity is innite, while on the other hand side the theory of ill-posed problems is well developed.

Ionizable Lipid‐Dependent Optimization of Steroid Lipid Nanoparticles With Tunable Immunomodulatory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A novel engineering strategy that establishes material design principles for incorporating anti‐inflammatory steroids into lipid nanoparticles to reduce LNP‐induced inflammation while retaining mRNA delivery. Results are validated in vitro and in three animal models of inflammation and autoimmunity in vivo.

Metal–Organic Framework‐Preserved Thermostable Microneedle Patch for Minimally Invasive Detection and Monitoring of Kidney Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By growing a conformal ZIF‐8 protective layer directly on antibody‐functionalized microneedles, this work converts a fragile biosensing interface into a thermostable diagnostic platform. The MOF@MN patch enables minimally invasive NGAL detection from dermal ISF while supporting cold‐chain‐independent storage and transport for decentralized kidney ...

Ill-Posed Problems in Early Vision

open access: yes, 1987
The first processing stage in computational vision, also called early vision, consists in decoding 2D images in terms of properties of 3D surfaces. Early vision includes problems such as the recovery of motion and optical flow, shape from shading ...
