Modular and Vertically Integrated Microsupercapacitor Arrays Based on Laser‐Induced Graphene and Bimetallic Oxide Interfaces on Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrate

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Modular and flexible MSCs are fabricated through a fully integrated, laser‐assisted process that enables in‐situ synthesis of bimetallic nanodomains on LIG patterned LCP substrates. The multilayered architecture, formed via laser‐drilled vertical interconnects, supports compact energy modules with robust electrochemical performance, ensuring consistent

The Impact of Lunar Phases During Day and Night Cycles on Perinatal Outcomes: A Nationwide Cohort Study

open access: yesBirth, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Light changes during the lunar cycle affect rhythms in diverse species. Human studies focusing on whether the moon influences human health have so far neglected the effects of light/dark cycles. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether lunar phases impact perinatal outcomes by considering illumination levels due to day ...

Exploring the Influence of the Illumination and Painting Tone of Art Galleries on Visual Comfort

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
Because of the increase in green lighting in recent years, scholars have been trying to find more comfortable lighting methods in various fields to meet people’s lighting needs. In previous studies, we found that most museum lighting was conducted in the

Label‐free imaging of intracellular structures in living mammalian cells via external apodization phase‐contrast microscopy

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
External apodization phase‐contrast (ExAPC) microscopy enables label‐free visualization of diverse intracellular structures in living mammalian cells. By enhancing phase‐contrast imaging through optical apodization, ExAPC reveals fine subcellular details, such as lipid droplets and organelle contacts, without fluorescent labels.

A Heuristic Approach for Optical Transceiver Placement to Optimize SNR and Illuminance Uniformities of an Optical Body Area Network

open access: yesSensors, 2021
The bi-directional information transfer in optical body area networks (OBANs) is crucial at all the three tiers of communication, i.e., intra-, inter-, and beyond-BAN communication, which correspond to tier-I, tier-II, and tier-III, respectively. However,

The Ecology of Human Sleep (EcoSleep) Cohort Study: Protocol for a longitudinal repeated measurement burst design study to assess the relationship between sleep determinants and outcomes under real‐world conditions across time of year

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary The interplay of daily life factors, including mood, physical activity, or light exposure, influences sleep architecture and quality. Laboratory‐based studies often isolate these determinants to establish causality, thereby sacrificing ecological validity.

How do elderly pedestrians perceive hazards in the street? - An initial investigation towards development of a pedestrian simulation that incorporates reaction of various pedestrians to environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In order to evaluate the accessibility of street and transport environments, such as railway stations, we are now developing a pedestrian simulation that incorporates elderly and disable pedestrians and their interaction with various environments ...

Investigating the Combined Effect of Artificial Light at Night and Noise on Sleep Quality of High School Students

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
Adolescents today are heavily exposed to ALAN from different sources, including cellular phones, personal computers, tablets, as well as other indoor and outdoor light sources, which affects the quality of their sleep. ABSTRACT Adolescents frequently use smartphones, smartwatches, personal computers, tablets, and other electronic devices during the day
