An All‐Optical Driven Bio‐Photovoltaic Interface for Active Control of Live Cells
Bio‐photovoltaic Interface (BIO‐PV‐I) for live cell manipulation is presented. BIO‐PV‐I can be activated non‐invasively and remotely to control the spatial motility, adhesion, and morphology of cells adhering to it. BIO‐PV‐I uses a patterned light‐induced electric potential in iron‐doped lithium niobate crystals whose light‐driven and reversible nature,

DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

The effect of background and illumination on color identification of real, 3D objects
For the surface reflectance of an object to be a useful cue to object identity, judgments of its color should remain stable across changes in the object's environment. In 2D scenes, there is general consensus that color judgments are much more stable

A Versatile Illumination System for Real-Time Terahertz Imaging
Terahertz technologies are attracting strong interest from high-end industrial fields, and particularly for non-destructive-testing purposes. Currently lacking compactness, integrability as well as adaptability for those implementations, the development ...

In this strategy, a conductive nano‐probe is employed to induce nanoscale phase transitions and map the nanoscale conductivity and trap density of GST films. By utilizing the contrasting properties of phase‐change states, nano‐resonators are fabricated that exhibit plasmonic conduction and dramatically different transport characteristics.

A chiral photodetector capable of selectively distinguishing left‐ and right‐handed circularly polarized light is experimentally demonstrated. The device, which features a nanopatterned electrode inverse‐designed by a genetic algorithm within a metal–dielectric–metal nanocavity that incorporates a vacuum‐deposited small‐molecule multilayer, exhibits ...

In this work we describe a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to accurately predict the scene illumination. Taking image patches as input, the CNN works in the spatial domain without using hand-crafted features that are employed by most previous methods.

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

DeLight-Net: Decomposing Reflectance Maps into Specular Materials and Natural Illumination
In this paper we are extracting surface reflectance and natural environmental illumination from a reflectance map, i.e. from a single 2D image of a sphere of one material under one illumination. This is a notoriously difficult problem, yet key to various
